The C2PA framework embeds metadata into digital files to verify their origin, but adoption is slow. Creators are also pushing back by emphasizing human craft and clearly stating when no AI was used.
But ultimately, the problem won’t disappear. Once mass production of content became nearly free, the floodgates opened. AI doesn’t care about truth or originality; it cares about probability. And that’s why AI slop is so easy to make and so hard to escape.
The best defense is awareness. Slow down, check sources, and reward creators who still put in real effort. The internet has fought spam and misinformation before.
