Samsung Streamlines “Frame” TVs: No More External Box by 2026

Samsung is refining its popular line of lifestyle TVs, the Frame and Frame Pro, with a major change: the standard Frame model will drop the external “One Connect” box that previously housed its ports. This simplification comes alongside other upgrades, including improved anti-glare tech, enhanced AI features, and continued support for Samsung’s Art Store subscription service.

The End of the Breakout Box

For years, Samsung’s Frame TVs stood out for their ability to mimic artwork when not in use, but also for the thin cable connecting the display to a separate box containing all the inputs. The 2026 Frame eliminates this by integrating ports directly into the TV itself. This streamlines setup and reduces clutter, though some users may prefer the flexibility of a remote connection box.

The TV also includes a Slim Fit Wall Mount which allows for easy access to ports when needed: simply fold the TV up on a hinge to plug in new devices.

Frame Pro Keeps Wireless Option

The higher-end Frame Pro retains the optional Wireless One Connect Box for those who prefer a completely cable-free setup. This box can transmit up to 30 feet away, offering maximum flexibility.

Both models will be available in 55-, 65-, 75-, and 85-inch sizes, with the Frame Pro featuring a Neo QLED 4K display for brighter colors and deeper blacks.

Enhanced Viewing Experience

Samsung is also improving the viewing experience with upgraded Glare Free technology, a matte surface that reduces reflections and makes artwork more realistic. AI Sound Controller Pro lets users fine-tune audio levels for voices, music, or background effects, while AI Soccer Mode optimizes picture settings for sports viewing.

The TVs run Samsung’s One UI Tizen OS, with guaranteed software updates for up to seven years, ensuring long-term usability. Gamers will benefit from Motion Xcelerator 144Hz support (up to 240Hz with a PC).

The Art of Television

Samsung’s Frame TVs have become a category standard, with competitors offering similar gallery-style displays. The Art Store gives subscribers access to over 5,000 artworks, while Art Store Streams provides 30 curated pieces monthly at no extra cost. Users can also customize the TV with interchangeable bezels in modern brown, teak, white, or sand gold metal.

The Frame Pro is already available at retailers, while the streamlined Frame will launch later this year. These updates position Samsung to continue leading the market for TVs that blend into the home as art rather than just technology.
